As part of the development of its activities, PLATFORMA-Urban Culture Co  collaborates with non-profit organizations to create commissioned animation films, in collaboration with the extensive network of animation creators of the Animasyros International Animation Festival. To date, promotional films have been completed for two EU co-financed projects by Horizon2020, Hydrousa (hydrousa.org) and Deep Purple (deep-purple.eu) aimed at developing innovative water/ wastewater treatment and management solutions in the areas Mediterranean as well as urban waste, in collaboration with Impact Hub Athens and the Austrian company Alchemia Nova respectively. The films are directed by Alexandra Tagali (Hydrousa) and Charalambos Margaritis (Deep Purple) and are available on the Animasyros page on Vimeo (https://vimeo.com/animasyros).

Meanwhile, the dramatized animated documentary “Places of Hellenism: Ermoupolis” is in production. The animation based on the original idea of ​​animating the history of Ermoupolis that emerged on the waters of the Aegean Sea in the center of the Cyclades archipelago, in Syros. The director of the film is the Cypriot Charalambos Margaritis, the original drawings and characters were developed by the designers Vassilis Evdokias and Lefteris Faidas, while the historian Maria Sampatakaki has curated the screenplay. The film, which was recently included in the films funded by the Ministry of Culture’s extraordinary program to enhance the animation film production, is expected to be completed within the first semester of 2021.
