International Animation Festival 23 - 29.09.2024
I_AM Day: Animating inclusiveness

Animasyros in collaboration with school communities, presents the event I_AM day : Αnimating inclusiveness” which aims to support inclusive education of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) through an innovative person-centred, inter-disciplinary and art-based approach

There will be screenings, speeches and the award ceremony of the student animated video contest on the subject of inclusiveness. A unique opportunity for networking of educators and organizations that work on special and inclusive education, in order to use animation as a tool to inclusiveness.

The event will be held on the framework of  the co-funded by the Erasmus+, EU project I_AM: “Inclusive education using Animation and Multimedia", implemented in Greece, Cyprus, Hungary, Poland which utilizes multimedia resources and especially animation, through a blended learning capacity building programme, to develop a welcoming environment for children with SEND in mainstream schools. Working together with school communities, it will promote the sharing of common values of social inclusion. Respect for children with SEND rights towards their equal access to education will be promoted, while stereotypes and discrimination will be combated.

The event is open to the public and will take place on Tuesday, September 20th, at 15.30  in Ermoupolis cultural center and will be broadcasted live through the festival’s YouTube channel.

In the framework of the I_AM proect, a series of three educational short animated films were created : the "I_AM SHOTs". The films present in a simple and condensed way the "notions" of special educational needs and on inclusive education the the I_AM project promotes.
