The president of ANIMASYROS, Vassilis C. Karamitsanis, was elected president of the International Center of Films for Children and Young People (CIFEJ), the most important global organization for children's and youth cinema that has been established for decades by UNESCO. The American Christine Mendoza, a renowned producer of children's content from New York, also participated in the voting for the presidency of the organization.

The newly elected president stated that "the vote of an international body of such important professionals is extremely honorable for me, for ANIMASYROS, but also for our country and it is yet another proof that Greece and Europe, in general, can lead the effort to upgrade audiovisual content for children and youth".
